Powers
Jubilee has the ability to project and control plasmoids from her hands
which look similar in many respects to fireworks and mentally control them.
The plasmoid shapes vary from streamers to spheres to "globs" and to sparks.
They can either all be the same shape or be a mixture of forms. The maximum
intensity of this power is capable of shattering one-inch thick reinforced
steel. The intensity level gets higher the angrier she gets. Usually, though,
her powers are never seen to their full potential do to the fact that she
affraid of using them at full strength. Jubilee is also capable of re-asorbing
her own energy without harming herself, though in Generation X #18 Emma
redirected her blasts using her mind control and it hurts her (Jubilee)(This
may have merely been a mistake on Scott Lobdell's behalf).
Jubilee aslo has a psionic "stealth" power in which she is capable of
escaping detection from hostile persuers, which also include telepaths
like Psylocke. Also, in the Generation X movie, it was said that Jubilee
possesses latent telepathy. Whether she will ever use this ability is yet
to be known.
History
When Jubilee's rich parrents were murdered, she was forced to live
a life alone in the streets of California. While in a mall, she followed
a few X-Men through a portal of Gateway's to the X-Men's Australian hideout,
where she hid away. She didn't stay hidden for long, though, because when
Wolvie got caught by the Reavers, she forced herself into helping him escape
and from then on became his personal "sidekick." She and him grew a strong
father-daughter relationship. When Wolverine lost his adamantium bones
and left the X-Men, Jubilee decided that she needed to learn how to be
a real super-hero and be the best there is at what she does so she joined
Generation X to learn to control her powers.
After Gen X
After Gen X disbanned, Jubilee went to California
with Skin. They spent some time together until Jubilee went off to Europe to join Banshee's X-Corps.
Notes and Personal Thoughts
Although Jubilee is only 14, you'll notice that she's done more in
her life than any of the other Gen Xers. She's felt the experience of someone
in her family dying, been on the X-Men, fought to save the universe (DC
versus Marvel #3), and has been forced to live on her own without anyone
to help her out. She's also the most stress-free of all of the Gen X kids.
Whenever something comes up that bothers her, she always makes some sort
of joke or wise-crack.
Did'ja Know. . .
The first artist to ever draw Jubilee in comics was Marc Silverstri.
Jubilee, in Bishop's future, was the "last X-Man".
Jubilee's parents were rich until they lost their money in the stock market.
That same weekend two hit men mistook Jubilee's parents for their neighbors,
also named the Lees, and killed them.
Gateway brought Jubilee to the X-Men as a form of penance, as he did with
the St. Croix sisters.
